Schools Are Open Monday, September 19, 2022

Algoma District School Board reminds parents that classes are running and schools are open on Monday September 19th.
Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford, previously announced that the day will be marked as a provincial Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The people of Ontario, including students and staff in schools, have been encouraged to observe a moment of silent reflection in honour of Her Majesty’s legacy of service to the people of Canada and across the Commonwealth on, or around, 1:00 p.m on the 19th. Schools have also been encouraged to include information or activities about the many contributions the Queen made to our province, country, and Commonwealth, and the Accession of King Charles III to the Throne. Recognitions and observances of this nature will be conducted in an age-appropriate manner that recognizes the developmental stages of students.
